I wrote an article for XOJane (I love that site btw, I’ve followed them from Sassy, to Jane magazine, to XoJane!) extolling the virtues of the Asian skincare routine! It was such an amazing opportunity to write about something I’m so passionate about! Please check it out if you have the time and spread the word 😉

Funny thing: My boyfriend just IMed me from work and said “There’s a thing on XOJane about Korean skincare!” So I looked and guess who it was by? 🙂
Ahahahah I love it!!!!
Congratulations, it’s a great article! Allure magazine has a piece about layering skin care in the new issue. Missha and Benton get mentions.
Reading the comments on your xojane post I think most folks are just not ready for this paradigm shift. Everyone do what makes them happy. And if you are very young maybe you get good results with bar soap and one cream slapped on.
We were made to believe that many products together will counteract and wreck havoc. Yes they can but you have to take an interest in the topic and read labels and understand what the ingredients do. Once you do that you probably have a better chance to mix and match successfully. If someone does not know the consistency of a toner, essence, serum and how watery they are, layering does seem crazy.
I get a lot of compliments on my skin and I get asked a lot what I do. Once I tell them I see the disappointment that there is no miracle product. It’s about 20!
Do you share the specific step-by-step process you do & the product for each step? I found your blog thanks to the article, and noted the picture & list of products in the article, but would be interested to know the full regimen.
I also like XOJane but from a beauty perspective many readers, and particularly commenters, lean very minimalist when it comes to beauty – interestingly, moreso minimalist in skincare than makeup, which you had a great point on needing less or no foundation/base makeup if you put the effort into skincare instead. I thought article was very interesting and useful!
Welcome!
Thank you so much for finding your way over here and thank you so much for reading!
I have wanted to do a step by step guide for some time now, but my friend Kerry at Skin & Tonics did a post about it in such a great way that I could never do justice to it the way she did!

That is awesome – exactly what I’m looking for! Thanks!
