Every once in awhile I come across a product that completely changes the game for me. Sometimes it’s a mask, sometimes it’s a concealer, sometimes it’s a lipstick, sometimes it’s something a little less sexy than that, but still game changing all the same. Daiso Detergent For Puff And Sponge is a mouthful, but I almost feel like such a longwinded name is warranted after the way it blew me away.
Diaso Detergent, (as I’m going to refer to it from hereon out) is a very inexpensive, but very, very, very effective cleanser for brushes and sponges. I could sit here and wax poetic about exactly how crazy this stuff is (as in crazy effective) but nothing I can say can show you how amazing this stuff is as well as a picture can. So behold!
Here we had my disgustingly filthy duo fibre brush. This brush was stained all to hell from years of blushes and highlighters. It had been washed time and time again and just would not come clean. It was my toughest brush to get clean and I mistakenly assumed it was just stained forever.
To use the Daiso Detergent, you simply pour a bit in a clean bowl and swirl the brush around in the cleanser, then rinse with water. That’s it!
With the most minimal of effort, I mean really minimal, this brush came snow white clean! I can’t even tell you how disgusted I was that I had been using that I assumed was a ‘as clean as it can possibly get’ brush all this time! I promptly went through and cleaned every damn brush I owned, quite an undertaking as I have probably a hundred makeup brushes I’ve collected over the years. This detergent is beyond the holy grail for me. I want to sing it’s praises from the mountain tops. I don’t think I will ever buy another brush cleaner again, this is it for me, I’m totally committed! I’m throwing away my little black brush cleaner book. I’m deleting my other cleaners’ contact details off my phone. I’m putting a ring on it!
I am rarely able to explicitly tell you guys to ‘GO BUY SOMETHING NOW!’ because not everything works for everyone, but with something like this, I say GO BUY THIS NOW! Seriously though, if you’re looking for a brush or puff cleaner (it also works great on my BB cushion sponges!) I implore you to give this one a try. It’s great stuff and at such an amazing price point, you cannot go wrong!

Pores. Pores are a huge problem in my household, pun fully intended. My husband is a model, and he cleans up real nice I guess,
but even with the huge leaps and bounds he’s made with his skin since he’s dedicated himself to a full skincare routine (including good BHA and AHA exfoliants), his pores remain permanently dilated from years of unchecked, overly active oil glands. Because of that, his pores easily get clogged with debris, and he needs a little extra help to keep them looking nice for photoshoots. We’ve both always been big fans of the original Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask, it always does a great job of absorbing excess sebum and giving pores a minimized look as a result. Our only complaint was that since it was in a pot and thick as balls, it was messy as hell to apply, and takes a lot of effort to rinse completely.
We ordered the Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask, which contains “6,020mg of Super Volcanic Clusters that increases overall efficacy of sebum absorption”. In comparison the Jeju Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask contains 3,000mgs of Jeju Volcanic Clusters. Whatever these little Super Volcanic Clusters are doing, they deserve a raise, because my god, this stuff really sucks up the oil. I’m going to show you a disgusting close up of a before and after of my husband’s nose pores. Be warned, it’s nasty, but it’s dramatic enough to show you how amazingly well this stuff works!
Whaaaaaat! Slay Super Volcanic Clusters!
In addition to it’s superior oil absorption powers, the easy to dispense fluffy mousse formula rinses off with minimal effort in contrast to all the work you have to put in with the original pot formula. I absolutely love this stuff! I typically have sensitive, dry to normal skin, but it is summertime here and I’ve used this after a hot day outside and it didn’t irritate or dry out my skin at all. It seems to me like it would be gentle enough for others with sensitive skin as well. If you’re a fan of the original Volcanic Pore Mask, I strongly recommend you try out this new version as well! Five out of five refreshed, clean pored turtles!

Peripera Soft Touch Waterproof Lip & Eye Remover Tissue: With all of these amazing waterproof products, I can’t leave you hangin’ in the remover department! Whip out one of these soft babies to make short work of removing both lip and eye makeup. Very handy to keep in your bag, because you never know where this summer is going to take you!
