Are you melting? Your makeup doesn’t have to!
I’ve curated some of my very favourite, tried and true items from Club Clio USA, that will keep you fresh throughout the entire summer and beyond. I’ve rigorously tested these items (hello hot yoga class) and I adore them all. Another bonus to this selection of products is they are all self contained little wonders of beauty that require no brushes or additional tools to create a stunning, waterproof, lifeproof look that will serve you well on the beach or just out with friends on the town.

Clio Tinted Tattoo Kill Brow: Brows are everything right now, so why not showcase them with a product that’s as tough as it is beautiful. Clio Tinted Tattoo Kill Brow is a two in one tint and browcara that both fills and grooms your brows. Unlike some other brow stains and browcaras, Tinted Tattoo Brow Kill gives an extremely natural, soft look, all in one handy tube. I’ve chosen a versatile shade that could work with just about any hair colour, so chances are, this will work beautifully for you!

Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Shadow: These eyeshadow sticks are the handiest, easiest, most foolproof way to get gorgeous eyes. The smooth gel pencil texture is easily blended with your fingers (no brush needed!) to create a shimmering masterpiece. Once set, they don’t budge!  Beer Pong is an incredibly versatile shade. It can be used as a browbone highlight, base color, teardrop highlight or to highlight the “aegyo-sal” under the eyes. Hold Me Tight is a stunning pinky-orange with gold shimmer that makes your eyes look like a pond reflecting a sunset. Combine both shades for a fresh summer twist on the smoky eye.

Peripera Peri’s Tint Marker: This sweet product doesn’t get enough attention in my opinion and I’m so happy to be able to share it with you all! It’s everything you need for a tinted lip that lasts, in one adorable package. I also love the sweet pink shade I’ve selected, as I’ve used it on many different skintones and it’s been pretty universally flattering. The pink gives you that “my lips but cuter” look that works for both day and night. Another thing I love is it’s precise application tip, which completely does away with the need for a lipliner!

Peripera Soft Touch Waterproof Lip & Eye Remover Tissue: With all of these amazing waterproof products, I can’t leave you hangin’ in the remover department! Whip out one of these soft babies to make short work of removing both lip and eye makeup. Very handy to keep in your bag, because you never know where this summer is going to take you!

INNISFREE NEON COLOR POT ROUGE REIVEW

Innisfree neon color pot rouge
I’m starting to lose my mind here because it’s the end of March and we’ve had snowstorm after snowstorm, with no hint of Spring.  So, I’m just going to take matters into my own hands and inject some Spring into my life with these cheerful little Neon Color Pots from Innisfree. Available in four shades, I chose #2 Cherry Pink. It’s a wonderfully vibrant blue based neon pink. Really every shade option offered is bright, gorgeous, and en trend right now. They’re the perfect counter to this unseasonably dreary weather. The photo below is very true to colour.
INNISFREE NEON COLOR ROUGE POT SW

Innisfree Neon Color Pot Rouge is a 2 in 1 product (that I would argue could conceivably be considered a 3 in 1 product if used like this) meant to be used as either a blush or a lip colour. Personally, I say it functions much better as a blush. Due to it’s powdery nature, it does cling like mad to any dry flakes or cracks in the lips. But that’s not to say this is too powdery and dry to blend well. It actually blends great! I think that’s due to the inclusion of Camellia oil, which is a great emollient high in omega-9 fatty acids. And while the colour is bright and vibrant, it does it without being too overpowering and clownish. It’s a great way to work in a pop of beautiful, eye catching, but not overboard colour into your look.
INNISFREE NEON COLOR ROUGE POTSWATCH

This product is great for quick looks as well. One day I was running low on time and threw this on as a blush and lipstick (it works better if you put on a lip balm base first) with some Tony Moly Backstage Gel Eyeliner and it looked great. I got compliments on it at two different locations. It’s also small so you can throw it in your makeup bag without any worry for touchups. As a blush this lasted throughout the day for me, as a lipstick it did need several touchups but it was cute enough to justify the hassle. Also, if you’re not a fan of the matte lip, just mix some clear gloss on your hand with a swipe of this rouge to get yourself a custom lipgloss. You could also mix this with a dab of your concealer to make a pretty pastel pink. It’s very versatile! It’s also about half of the cost of the more expensive 3CE’s version of this product.

I love the colour payoff, blend-ability, feel, convenience, versatility, and longevity of this little pot. I want to put in an order for every other colour they offer now!
I rate the Innisfree Neon Color Pot Rouge 4 out of 5 turtles

ETUDE HOUSE LOOK AT MY EYES CAFE EYESHADOW REVIEW

lookatmyeyescafeNorth America is in the grip of this bleak Polar Vortex. Time to break out some warm colours so at least your eyes don’t look like they’re from the sixth planet of the remote Hoth system. Today we’re looking at BR404 Chocolat Latte, PK004 Deep Berry Soda, PK003 Berry Berry Soda, and BE102 Honey Milk.

The Etude House Look At My Eyes collection is made up of single pots of eyeshadow in clear plastic cases that span a whole rainbow of colours. They’ve also released different collections within the Look At My Eyes umbrella, like the Look At My Eyes Jewel selection, which includes ultra shimmery colours. Then there’s the Look At My Eyes Cafe collection, which are mattes and where these shadows are from. I was very slow to embrace Korean eyeshadows. In the past their formulas were light colour washes that ranged from shimmery nightmare to glittery damnation. More recently they’ve really stepped up their game and are charging full force into the great payoff and awesome colour market. On colour alone I picked up these little yummy beauties and decided to give them a try.

Here they are swatched twice over Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer
LOOKATMYEYESCAFESWATCH

These wear extremely well and have no real fall out. They blend wonderfully and have a dramatic buildable colour payoff. As a testament to both these shadows, and the Proof 10 Eye Primer, I could not remove these swatches without the help of my Tony Moly Aqua Sherbet Cleanser.

BR404 Chocolate Latte is a deep warm brown with a matte finish that’s extremely easy to wear. It’s almost kind of like a root beer syrup colour. Pretty, pretty, pretty!
.
PK004 Deep Berry Soda is a gorgeous cranberry maroon with the same finish as B404. This is also so very pretty. I’ve really been so drawn to this colour family lately. It pairs especially well with both BR404 and our next shadow
.

PK003 Berry Berry Soda is a sweet raspberry red/pink that calls to mind a delicious raspberry milk smoothie. It also shares the same finish as the previous two shades. All three of these colours together make for some crazy awesome eye looks, you can coax both a sweet innocent eye and a serious edgy eye out of these. There’s a lot of room to play with these and they’re a lot of fun.

.BE102 Honey Milk: Ugh, goddamn it. I have the absolute worst luck with highlighter shades. My skin is very pale with a neutral yellow tone and it almost always ends up being the exact colour of most highlighter shades. Once again, that’s the case with this one. That being said there’s nothing wrong with this shade in and of itself, it’s a pretty, well, honey milk shade. It would work nicely with just about anyone else than myself.

I haven’t tried depotting these yet but I’d really like to. They seem to be roughly the same size as a MAC eyeshadow pot. My one complaint about these shadows have nothing to do with the finish or product itself but with the damn containers. Lordt, they’re the worst. Two out of the four I bought have defective lids that are such an ordeal to get open. I’ve broken nails trying to pry these fuckers open like an oyster refusing to give up it’s pearl. I’ve taken to just leaving the lids ever so slightly open and not snapping them fully closed. Although, it’s really tough to complain when these sell at about a $5 price point.

TOO FACED A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS PALETTE REVIEW

TOOFACEI know this is a super late review for something limited edition that came out for the 2013 holiday season, but it is entirely too cute not to give it it’s time in the spotlight! I received this as a Christmas gift and I was so impressed I wanted to share it with you guys.

The Too Faced A Few Of My Favorite Things palette has pretty much everything you need for for both super casual and fun night out looks. It has 20 different shadows with a great selection of neutrals and bolds. It does a really great job of being evenly balanced between the two. I also like that it has both velvety mattes and sparkly shimmers. For the most part these are highly pigmented and super easy to work with. I think both beginners and eyeshadow pros would like this palette. Same with both warm and cool toned beauties. The neutrals might just be some of the best selection of neutrals I’ve seen in any big palette and the splashy vibrant colours are both fun and entirely wearable. Really there’s something for everyone here, and that something is the whole damn thing.
The palette also includes really awesome blushes and a bronzer. I am really picky about blush shades, being as pale as I am a lot of colours just tend of overwhelm and look ridiculous. These are both nicely pigmented and yet subtle if you apply it with a soft hand. The colours are very easily build-able though if you are one of the lucky ones that can take a lot of colour. I would have still been pleased even if they had just given us all these awesome eyeshadows and blushes and left it at that, but they also give us a travel sized version of Better Than Sex mascara (it’s not better than sex but it’s better than a lot of mascaras out there) and a Lip Injection crayon. They didn’t even stop there though, as you can see in the pictures it includes a large zip travel bag that is actually amazingly cute and en trend (I was so impressed/thankful it was not a heinous floral throw away number like a lot of free bags are).toofacedpackage

toofacedsdjkfhMy swatches are so awful, I don’t know why my arm eats makeup but it really does not show an accurate representation of how pretty these shades actually are. I’m going to link you to Temptalia because she’s the Queen of swatches and her photos are spot on with their actual colour. Out of the twenty eyeshadows I am only disappointed in Party Time. After swiping on Blue Satin Sashes and being blown away and the amazing colour payoff I reached for Party Time with similar expectations and, ugh. It has very little pigment and is a chalky glittery mess. Other than that single misfire, this palette hit all the marks for me!

Sadly, it’s sold out online at Sephora, however I know my local Sephora does still have this in stock. If this palette really strikes you it would be worth making a call to see if your nearest Sephora still has some in store as well. Who knows, you might just luck out and get your hands on one.

I’m going to give the Too Faced A Few Of My Favourite Things palette 4 turtles out of 5. It’s a great compilation filled with hits and almost no B-sides.
